What our customers say
We used Rhino Storage in Salisbury for around 3 months while moving house. Would highly recommend them to others. Everything including communication and access was perfect. We would definitely use them again in the future.
Great location and service. Easy to use.
We are really chuffed with Rhino storage, Johnathan was really helpful and friendly. Booking and paying for self storage was proper easy! Thanks Rhino 🙂
Really helpful staff, helped me work out the size of the storage unit I needed. Quick support on site when needed. Recommend using this company, if needed again will definitely use.
Rhino provided the best solution and service during a very difficult time for our family. Jonathan always replied quickly, and the whole process was handled with care and professionalism for everyone involved. We needed to begin to clear a flat during a grieving process and it was perfect to do it in a respectful manner. Thank you. Julie P

Very good self storage service – easy access, no hassle, and a professional team. Everything went smoothly. I’d definitely use them again.
These storage units are top-notch—super clean and always dry. Having 24-hour access is incredibly convenient. I used a container while transitioning between homes, and everything I stored stayed in perfect condition. I definitely recommend this place. The pricing is very reasonable too.
Storage for moving house
Rhino Storage Salisbury is on Churchfields Industrial Estate (Stephenson Road, Salisbury, SP2 7NP) — close to the western edge of the city and easy to reach from Salisbury and the surrounding villages. You drive right up to many units and unload at the door (the rest are a few steps from the end of a short row), so there are no long corridors, lifts or stairs to carry things through.
Completion dates slip, chains break, and the new place needs work before the sofa goes in. A container you can drive the van up to, fill in one trip, and open whenever the keys finally arrive.
The three moving situations
A gap between selling and buying: everything goes in. As a rule of thumb, 40 sq ft takes the contents of a studio flat, 80 sq ft a two-bedroom flat, and 160 sq ft a three- or four-bedroom house or a small business’s stock and equipment.
Decluttering to sell: the estate agent’s usual advice is to get half the furniture out so the house shows bigger. A 40 or 80 sq ft unit takes the spare-room contents, the boxes and the bikes for the weeks the house is on the market.
Renovating after the move: kitchen contents, boxes and the things the builders must not reach sit in a dry, insulated container until the dust settles.
How the day works
Book online, sign your storage agreement and set up your Direct Debit, and we text you your gate and unit access details; just turn up on your move-in date. Every unit is on the ground floor: you drive right up to many units, and the rest are a few steps from the end of a short row. The electric gate opens from your phone 24/7, the storage facility is lit from dusk to dawn and there is CCTV on site. Enterprise van hire is directly opposite the gate. We are at Churchfields Industrial Estate on the western side of Salisbury, a short walk from the railway station. The recycling centre is 150 metres down the road, which helps when you are clearing as you go.
No minimum stay
No deposit, no hidden charges and no long-term contract. There’s no minimum stay: you can move in and out on the same day. The minimum charge is two weeks at the full weekly price, because two weeks is our notice period. You leave with two weeks’ notice. You can cancel for free up to 48 hours before your move-in date. Padlock use is free.
Live availability and the price for every size are on the home page; the price you see there is the price you pay, with 50% off your first eight weeks.

Which size for a whole house?

Do I need my own padlock?
No, padlock use is free.
Every unit is an insulated steel container on the ground floor, fitted with DripStop condensation control to keep belongings dry, and reached through a secure electric gate with CCTV on site. There’s free padlock use, no deposit and no long-term contract, so you can take the space for as long — or as little — as you need. - Sort your insuranceCheck whether your home insurance covers things in storage, or take out storage cover. We don’t sell it; we recommend insurastore.com.
- Measure the big piecesSofa, wardrobe, fridge: check them against the width, depth and height on our size cards.
- Get your packing kit inBoxes, tape, bubble wrap, sofa and mattress bags. Amazon and B&Q are good for this.
- Defrost and drain your appliancesDefrost the fridge and freezer a couple of days before. Drain the washing machine and empty the tumble dryer’s water tank, so everything is dry on the day.
- Take beds and tables apartPut the screws in a bag and tape it to the piece.
- Write a list of what’s going inHandy for insurance, and for finding things later.
- Keep back an “open first” boxThe things you’ll need straight away stay out of storage.
- 1Big and heavy at the backWardrobes, chests and white goods go against the back wall of the unit.
- 2Everyday things by the doorPaperwork, tools and seasonal kit you’ll want again stay at the front.
- 3Build up, not outStack sturdy boxes to the ceiling: heavy at the bottom, light on top.
- 4Label two sidesSo you can still read every box once it’s stacked.
- 5Fridges, freezers, washers and dryersDefrost and drain them and dry them out first, then leave the doors ajar.
- 6Nothing damp goes inDamp wooden garden furniture and plant pots with soil give off moisture that turns into condensation. Dry the furniture fully and empty the pots first.
- 7Cover the soft stuffSofas and mattresses go in proper sofa and mattress bags to keep dust and dirt off.
- 8Plastic boxes for longer staysStoring for more than a few months? Lidded plastic boxes last better than cardboard, and they stack higher without collapsing.
- 9A path to the backLeave a gap from the door so nothing gets buried.
