Every unit is an insulated steel container on the ground floor with 24/7 access, and the gate opens when you ring it from your registered phone.

About Amesbury

Amesbury is a Wiltshire town on the A345, north-north-east of Salisbury, in the valley of the River Avon, and the Stonehenge monument lies within its parish. The town is claimed to be the oldest occupied settlement in Great Britain, having been first settled around 8820 BC, and the parish — with a population of 10,724 at the 2011 census — includes the hamlets of Ratfyn and West Amesbury and part of Boscombe Down military airfield. In 2002 the richest Bronze Age burial yet found in Britain was discovered here — the grave of the man now known as the ‘Amesbury Archer’, buried with over 100 objects including the earliest worked gold in the country — and legend holds that Guinevere retired to the convent at Amesbury after leaving Arthur.

Amesbury today

The parish church of St Mary and St Melor, with a nave from the early 12th century, is Grade I listed, as is the mansion known as Amesbury Abbey, built in 1834–1840 and now a nursing home. The town has a secondary school, The Stonehenge School, and four primary schools; Antrobus House hosts community organisations and events, and Amesbury History Centre, the town museum, was rebuilt in 2023. The Antrobus Arms and four pubs, among them The George Hotel, first built around 1560, are in the town centre — The Beatles stayed at the Antrobus in 1965 while filming Help! on Salisbury Plain — and Amesbury Town F.C. play at Bonnymead Park. From 40 to 160 sq ft

Three sizes of insulated steel container: 40 sq ft takes the contents of a studio flat, 80 sq ft a two-bedroom flat, and 160 sq ft — a 20-foot container — a three- or four-bedroom house or a small business’s stock and equipment, with room for a van-load of furniture and a walkway down the middle. Clearing a house, loft or garage in Amesbury? Pick the size and the move-in date that suit you, drive up to load — you can drive right up to many of our units, and the rest are a few steps from the end of a short row — and give two weeks’ notice when you’re done. Salisbury recycling centre is 150 metres down the road for anything you don’t keep. There’s no deposit and no long-term contract, and no minimum stay — but a minimum of two weeks’ rent at full price applies.

For stock, tools, equipment or archive boxes, every unit is on the ground floor with 24/7 access, and the gate works from anywhere — ring it from your phone to let a delivery driver in while you’re away. The 160 sq ft (20 ft) container takes a small business’s stock and equipment, and van hire is opposite the gate.
